Types of Cancer Treated With Dichloroacetate
The human studies done at the University of Alberta were done with people who had glioblastoma which is brain cancer. Glioblastoma is a very bad type of cancer because it is very difficult to treat and it advances quickly. Because dichloroacetate is such a small molecule it can get into areas that are impossible to treat with other cancer treatments such as surgery.
The initial dichloroacetate study was done in 2007. Since then many people have had great success in treating the following types of cancer:
- brain cancer
- breast cancer
- lung cancer
- pancreatic cancer
- prostate cancer
These are just a few that are well documented. The use of dichloroacetate to treat cancer continues and much research is being done with it.
